The rhythm of your heart is examined using simple procedures (an electrocardiogram at rest or long term). In some cases, more complex examinations are required. This so-called endocavitary electrophysiological test consists in recording your heart's electrical activities using small catheters (tubes).
If your heart is beating too slowly (bradycardia), light surgery is used to install a pacemaker (cardiac stimulator). Some conditions require implanting an automatic defibrillator or a resynchronisation system, if the heart is suffering from fatigue (cardiac insufficiency). If, on the other hand, your heart is beating much too fast (tachycardia), specialised cardiologists can remove the cause using a ground-breaking procedure consisting in a little burn (radiofrequency ablation).
